Each team member brings their own story, experience, and connection to the Lake Sunapee Region, and we couldn't think of a better way to begin than with Anne Marie Appel.
Her dedication, local expertise, and genuine care for her clients reflect the heart of what we do every day. If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Anne Marie, you know her passion for helping clients find (or sell) their home in the region shines through in everything she does. Here is a peek into her world, from favorite local spots to cozy comfort foods and travel dreams!
Q: How many years have you been in Real Estate?
A: 18 years! It’s been such a rewarding journey helping people find their place to call home.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about helping people buy or sell in the Lake Sunapee Region?
A: I love playing “tour guide” There’s nothing better than showing clients all my favorite things that this area has to offer.
Q: If you could give first time homebuyers one piece of advice, what would it be?
A: Pay a little extra towards your mortgage principal each month - just 1/12 of your payment can potentially shave up to seven years off your mortgage!
Q: What’s your favorite local restaurant?
A: We have been loving the Refinery – Great food with a consistent value.
Q: Coffee Order – What’s your go-to?
A: Definitely a Caramel Latte (hot!) or a Frozen Mocha
Q: Book or Podcast you’ve loved recently?
A: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
Q: Favorite New England day trip (outside of the area)?
A: Portsmouth, NH
Q: What’s your favorite fall activity in the Lake Sunapee Region?
A: Foliage Cruises all over the state!
Q: Go-to comfort food during the chilly months?
A: Cracker Barrel style meatloaf with Garlic Mashed – true cozy comfort!
Q: Skiing, Snowshoeing, or apres-ski, where will we find you?
A: In front of my woodstove at home.
Q: Favorite Holiday Tradition?
A: Cutting down the biggest Christmas tree we can find at Long’s Tree Farm in Danbury.
Q: What was your very first job?
A: Selling Christmas Cards door to door / Camp Counselor – these were great lessons in people skills!
Q: Are you involved with any local charities, schools, or community groups?
A: Yes! I’m a part of SRBR’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors program.
Q: Tell us a little about your family and pets.
A: Our kids are grown, and we recently lost our dog this past summer, so it’s my husband David and me for now. But we’re hoping to welcome a new puppy in the Spring!
Q: How do you like to unwind after a busy day?
A: A glass of wine and a good book, simple and perfect.
Q: What’s one location that’s on your bucket list?
A: Costa Rica – it’s been calling my name for year's!
